how can you tell if you got a good chip or a poor chip. i have posted a pic of the box, and this is the cpu i received back from intel for rma, it was sealed in a box, brand new.

pin broke off in the socket, and i knew it and played dumb, sent it in and they sent me a new one that i cannot get over 127 fsb for some reason, maybe i got a bad chip.

i have a cpu that has all the pins on it now, it just wont overclock that high, although i would be curious to see what this chip would do in your board.ColdDisposition said:

what bios are you running? and how much ram do you have? also, do you have watercooling, and if so, post pics and screenies.

I'm using the "lord micron" bios although the 38 clocks just as well.
And yes I water-cool my cpu/i850/gpu.
Oh and I also use phase-change

that is some nice screenies, got any pics of the rig? that is awesome, great overclock. i am waiting definately until i get my 1.6a before i take the 2.0a outta my system, an i would want like $250 for it and the price is gonna drop on the cpu's on like monday or something, so i guess we will wait and see.
