I attempted to update my Via 4-in-1 last night and the system locked up after the program ran. I rebooted and all was fine. I'm not sure what happened. Is there a way to tell what version of the Via 4-in-1 is installed on my system? I want to determine if the update was successful. I looked through device manager, but nothing jumped out at me.

Thanks,

hows this from the via site:
Q:I have the VIA 4-in-1 drivers currently installed, but I? not sure what version number it is. How do I check?
Presently there is no method of determining what version 4-in-1 driver is installed in your system. VIA is currently developing a 4-in1 driver identification tool that will be made available on our website from April.

Mine does the same thing, I have found that if you boot into safe mode and do it they seem to install with no probs. When it reboots into Windows you get the updating system setting message so it must be doing something. I had to reinstall them when I put in my Radeon for some reason. It couldn't find the VIAAGP.VxD file. So, I did the safe mode thing and all is well. Good luck.

No wonder I couldn't find out what version.

Thanks.
