I'm trying to install Windows 98 with Dos. If I do it automatic from the disk, I lose my keyboard and mouse. I want to try and get the .cab files transfered and then run the setup from dos.

Can you help?

Thank's

craigiz1, I hope this works:
Boot from win98 start up floppy.
Boot with Cd support.
At A:\ prompt, switch to CD-ROM (usually D or E drive).
At D:\ prompt, type "CD win98cab".
Then "win98cab: setup.exe"
Follow on screen directions & continue setup.

I'm puuling this off some old written directions I've had for a while. You might have to play around with it to get the commands exactly right. (I usually do). But this should give the general idea. Good Luck!! -Dave

I finally figured out my problem. I installed an old modem card that must have been making some kind of conflick. Removed it and everything worked fine.
