[21:48:22]
[21:48:22] Project: 909 (Run 22, Clone 15, Gen 4)
[21:48:22]
[21:48:22] Assembly optimizations on if available.
[21:48:22] Entering M.D.
[21:48:42] (Starting from checkpoint)
[21:48:42] Protein: p909_vill_str0
[21:48:42]
[21:48:42] Writing local files
[21:48:44] Completed 45000 out of 250000 steps (18)
[21:48:44] Extra SSE boost OK.

It will show in the log, but there might be a problem. It might still only be on the first one when it is turned on. I have to go do something now but I will look into it later tonight:mad:

Edit: It looks like it just doesn't say SSE boost on every protein in the log even thoough it is still on:D:D:D

Alright I think I have to wait to get a gromac then I will be all set because I hear that will update my core to 78 instead of the 65 which it's at now.

okay listen up people..

1.) Is this beneficial to me?
Yes this would be beneficial to you only if you have a sse enabled cpu.

2.) Do I need the newest beta client?
In order to keep the sse boost on you need the newest client.
(Stanford has done some research with beta testers and has found out that the tbred b's seem to be the ones with the most stability problems)

3.) Should I wait for the wu i'm working on now to finish.
This answer is a bit shakey....I've done it without finishing the wu and it has updated fine...So I must say do this at your own risk.

as a side note to question number 2,
Stanford is thinking of implementing a system to which the client would detect a tbred b proccessor and turn off sse instrucions for certain wu's.

If you have any question feel free to PM me or Gnerma

Updated my XP1700 running a p909 just now. The frame time went from 11:13 to 9:47! This looks very promising. It's time to get to work. :D

thanks for the info, all my SSE machines have the new core, thanks alot for the extra boost!

I still have the client I downloaded last April and it's started with the avanced flags. It says the same thing yours does. So is it the client or the cores I'm getting that determine the SSE usage? I still have the 2.4 console and I'm still using SSE.

Just curious...

Well it took all of two minutes to do the switch. I renamed the old client and core just in case.

Thanx for the heads up Kendan

OK I am beginning to think I'm an idiot. I'm sure this is so easy but I cant do it. I was at the start of a wu so I shut down the client and uninstalled, deleted shortcuts, files and folders. Downloaded the beta 3.25 and clicked the icon. It goes straight to a screen name/ team # page and starts working. I quit proggie click properties to add the flags and there is no target area to change. What Am I doing wrong.:(

okay, if you erased everything in the folder then all you have to do is right click on the fahconsole.exe and select create shorcut

once this is done right click on this new file made an then add the tags after the ""

it should look something like this

C:\Fah2\FAH3Console.exe -forceasm -advmethods

happy folding

All you have to do is download the new beta client zip.

extract the new beta into the FAH folder

shut down FAH and remove old FAH3Console.exe from the folder.

remame beta to FAH3Console.exe

delete FAH core

before you use the shortcut to restart the FAH client make sure you set up your shortcut to get and run gramacs where 'X' is the letter of the partition your FAH is on..

"X:\Program Files\FAH3\FAH3Console.exe" -advmethods -forceasm

I also set mine up as a service thanx to Wedo.

It's all on a floppy installer so I can borg any machine in less than a minute.

Let the borging begin

nice find kendan. got the SSE turned on and folding away. But is it ok with stanford to use the beta client in this way? And dont Beta clients expire after a certain point?

I just got a tinker :(

I killed it, deleted all but the gromacs core and FAH3Console.exe and restarted it with the proper flags. Got a gromacs now.

NOTE TO SELF: YOU MUST INSTALL THE REGISTERY KEY INSTALLER AFTER THE SETUP.EXE OR YOU WON'T GET THE GROMACS FLAGS SET IN THE REGISTRY.

BTW I went from 11 hr / WU to 10 :D
