Before I got my Glaciator I had a Vol II on my 1.0G T-bird.

All temp via MBM5

At idle my CPU would run in mid 30's.
At 100% load it would run 47-48.

At 1.33 O/C it would run at aprox 52C under full load.

As with any system, case cooling is very important and can greatly effect CPU temps.

A Vol II should be ok though not optimal on a 1.0G CPU with good case cooling. Just depends on what you're looking for.

Always use thermal paste, use more or less depending on the finish of the bottom of the HS. With a lapped cpu and very flat HS you hardly need any paste at all.

Had a Volcano II on my 1.33@fsb 133 and it was running at 51c under load with Artic Silver II. Switched to a FOP38 w/Delta get 46c full now.
