Hows the onboard sound of NF7's compared to sb live 5.1.

Is the onboard better or sb live 5.1.....

reason i'm asking is that i dont want to buy another gamepad that is usb coz my mobo nf7s' doesnt have a gameport on it and thats where the sb live 5.1 sound card comes around.

k thx...

The NF7-S has great sound. I have crappy speakers at the moment, and it does sound better than the Sound Blaster Live I had in my old computer. Plus, nVidia's software is way better than Creative's.

If a game pad is an issue, just buy a new one. They aren't that expensive, and there is a huge selection. Most electronics stores have tons of them out for display, too... But none of the current ones match the original Sidewinder Gamepad. Not even its USB counterpart, it lacks daisy-chaining.

Also, I read somewhere that you can install your Sound Blaster and somehow disable everything on it except the MIDI/Game port. I don't know how to do this, though. Someone else might.

thats what i heard also that the onboard is better...
k thx guys.. maybe i'll trade my sb live 5.1 for a good decent gamepad.

IF you have the soundstorm chip onboard then it's no contest. Soundstorm wins....
