I need some advice... I've got a couple 15gig ata 100 7200 rpm drives striped in raid 0, and the newest bios upgrade from Abit says to back up any arrays or they might get putzed.

Is there any way to NOT upgrade the HPT bios but just the Award bios. Or is there a safe way of keeping your array together while doing the update?
Because, needless to say, backing up 22 gigs of stuff is awefully inconvienient for a mere bios flash.

Thanks,
Eric

I upgraded mine to the same bios and didn't have any trouble with my array. Although, as timing would have it, I had just backed everything up on cds so I could install win2k on a clean drive.

There might be a way to upgrade the bios without the new hpt bios, but I'm not sure how to do it or if it would be worth the trouble.

So I guess you could take your chances, I didn't have any trouble, or you could take the time and back everything up.
