It's designed to be effective as a passive sink, and depending on where your northbridge is on your board it may get enough secondary airflow. I wouldn't bother with a fan unless you've noticed your northbridge having temps higher than you're comfortable with.
why chipset temp sensor is broke.... so it always reads 40c haha but the cooler gets only warm to the touch on my system, im guess the secondary airflow from the vf900 on the gpu is keeping it cool.
I have a HR-05 running passively...sitting ever so close to my 12cm fan for my CPU heatsink. HR-05's cool to the touch so I suppose it sufficient enough.
