Now, 7:00 A. M. Friday (9/27/2024) the weather radar shows the remnants of Helene's eye just southeast of me; here in Georgia.

We are in the eye now. Several big pines are down in the yard, but nothing on the house. The lake level has risen 2.5ft in less than two days.

@KeeperOfTheButch survived. He's been showing off his generator to the neighbors with a light show on the front of his house and sending me pictures of a branch laying in the back yard saying he's glad he survived.

@KeeperOfTheButch didn't buy the huge battery bank I sent him last month, so his farm in FL has been offline while he's on generator power. Our PPD is going to take a bit because he's bad at folding unfortunately.

Hey folding proteins by hand can be quite peaceful. Sitting there, folding them with tweezers in the candlelight. I don't even fold my own, I just pull from the dryer and leave them in the laundry basket. My elliptical has been a drying rack since I moved.

Hey, I was 'good' for as long as I could be hehe. It's almost as bad as the Corp I'm in in EVE is a wormhole corp and we talk about 'the hole' all the time. They're great folks, they haven't booted me yet....

Well that... escalated quickly.
I figure I ain't banned yet so it can't be that bad.
But I think we got lucky here on the east coast, I saw a few tracking maps showing it pulling right and hitting us here but managed to avoid the brunt of it. Got a fair bit of rain yesterday, heavy wind. Got spooked on the way home, got hit with a few strong gusts where I actually had to counter steer a little.
