There was a longer break between my memory tests so I guess you will find something interesting in this short review.
Today I have to show you one of the latest memory kits with RGB LEDs - HyperX Predator RGB. Tested memory kit is rated at DDR4-4000 CL19 and 1.35V. It's based on Samsung B / SPD of DDR4-2400 so the new batch.
The memory runs at XMP settings on:
- ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming ITX/ac
- ASUS Maximus XI Gene
- Supermicro/SuperO C9Z390-CG-IW
- MSI Z370I Gaming Carbon ITX
I guess there won't be any problems on other motherboards that can handle DDR4-4000. There is also one higher memory kit from HyperX Predator RGB line but it wasn't available. The tested kit is from my personal collection if I can say that. It was one of the cheapest memory kits with guaranteed Samsung B IC which I found in stores.
I see no point in showing stability test at XMP settings and I guess you will agree after seeing overclocking results. However, if I find time in next days then I will add stability test at rated/XMP settings.
There are two XMP profiles. The main profile is DDR4-4000 and an additional profile, in case your motherboard couldn't handle higher clock, is DDR4-3600. Not many brands are using more than one profile anymore. Hard to say if it's an advantage or not. For sure it's good to have more in case if something didn't want to work.
