Buddy has an old slot 1 BX6 board and needs to know whether a Celeron 900 will fit his board. Cause he has found one used for a real good deal to upgrade fromn his Celeron 300a @ 450.

Abits site shows the BX6 as taking a cpu up to Celeron or PIII 700, but that was when it was released. The latest bios is from March/00 but I can not access the pdf manual through their ftp/http site, it is not listed. Also can not access or d/l the latest bios to read what it does.

Anyone shed light on this.

I know his board will not take take the newer Celeron II but was a 900 made in the original version of Celeron's?

I'm pretty sure that the latest bios revision adds support for coppermines (.18). You'll need a slotkit for the chip though since its a socket 370 and the bx6 is a slot one
