i broke my mobo

heh the title is true; as i put on my heatsink, i cut some traces. stupid friggin move. so, if i buy a conductive pen, can i redraw the traces , to the resistor?? please say yes, becasue i can get a bit of dough for it. oh yea, 1 last question. will it work as good as it used too?

For what it's worth (and that may not be much) Once upon a time I blew out an amp in my car radio. Literally blew off a chunk of the mobo. It was a fairly new head unit and very expensive. Since warranty wouldn't cover it (don't ask) I broke out the ol soldering gun and some stranded wire from a lamp cord. Quiet a bit of time and a ton of patience I managed to solder one strand of wire at a time back into place where the traces on the board were gone.
The radio worked great and never had another problem.

Lots of variables like ohms/resistance but if you don't feel you can do it don't trash it. Send it my way as I'll tinker with it.

If you have ALOT of patience and a steady hand then you probably COULD re-solder a wire on there but I don't know if it will work as well as it did.

I feel your pain. All it takes is a moment of stupidity. Brand new Asus mainboard, bah bye. I didn't even know that repair paint for car window defroster "grids" existed, much less about silver pens. I did know that soldering wouldn't work. Good luck. I hope you can fix it!
