i can i enable file transfers through msn messenger?

for some reason i cant transfer files to other people over the internet does anybody know what i can do enable file transfers? i am not connected to a fire wall so what could be the problem and what can i do to fix it?

Are the people your trading files with behind a router?

If you or the the people your trying to transfer files with are behind a router. Then you will need to map what port MSN Messenger uses to transfer files thru you router to the proper Lan IP. I'm not sure what port MSNM uses. You'd have to look in there help files to find that out.
