I gather PolarFLO sucks, but how much so? They may be my only option due to MoBo...

I have a Gigabyte GA-8I955X Royal motherboard and the northbridge chip has a center to center hole distance of 2.75 inches. This appears to be pretty atypical. The OEM cooler has this awful 40mm fan that’s the loudest, highest pitch thing in my system. I would be happy to go with a larger passive heat sink but I can not find one that would fit. edit: After buying a DD Maze4 WB for my north bridge without properly measuring, I looked for another waterblock that might work. I wrote to PolarFLO about their universal chipset waterblocks because I couldn’t find any text on what they would fit. They told me it would work with center to center distances up to 3 inches.

At this point it looks like this water block may be my only solution to ridding my system of this whiney fan. I have read that PolarFLO is no good at least from a innovation/development perspective and that they’re quality may be lacking. Am I taking a risk getting this, or maybe since acrylic is susceptible to cracking; this version instead?

i had a polarFLO TT cpu block.. was fab..would of bought one for gpu too but was out of stock in the uk at the time. out of the 2 you linked. the second is best. you can rotate the top before fitting to get the tube angle for better tube turns...
p.s i dont think they suck. and before now. i had never heard otherwise

oops, sorry, i was like half awake when i posted (slept super late w00t)

then i guess the polarflo with the acrylic top would be your best bet

I am running a PolarFlo it works just fine..... and it is the series E. A lot of folks dissed it due to the formed barbs and cheaper mfg. which led to a lower cost but Hey. Thats 2 less places for it to leak from, cost less and works great.

My DD Maze 4 universal chip block don't exactly fit like it should

the 2 scews sticking up kinda spreads their legs :)

but it still pulls down with a good seat
