I geuss I should be happy. I have the Number one system using Windows 98 and a GF3 Ti200 at this resolution. This includes Athlon Processors 1.0Ghz to 2.0Ghz. Would really like to get top on an Athlon but I just don't see how I can beat the xp operating system. It appears to be a little more efficient.

wow that is great to be the top with that combo.. i don't think i will get to the top of my list because i am still using air power on mine:( but i will surely try:)

I would not be too sure about that. Processor speed is not the whole story and mine is air cooled. Processor is water cooled. Tweaked the xxxx out of 98se. The upside is that Windows is running faster than ever. It has never run this fast for me.

Give you a big hint, it is not all about FSB. I believe I know how to get higher but do not have what I need.

yeah but it would be nice to at least unlock the XP and get it way up and get some H2O on my card so i can crank that up too. I am slowly tweaking win2k, looking for any suggestions i know that. Windows is also running fast for me right now but i know it can run so, much faster.

I do not think that Windows 98 is going to run much faster. Have changed cpu, agp, pci priorities, edited system.ini, msdos.sys, win.ini. I have cleaned up windows, running default colors, nothing in the tray, defragged, etc, etc, etc...I am up against the wall. Things I think should increase score do very minor improvement or none. I have something else holding me back and i do not think it is bandwidth. I know it is not the vid card as I have made passes at 270/600 with no improvement. I believe that the problem is in throughput. I believe that I am getting data from the hd after the fact. Not enough or two sticks is what I believe is holding me back now. Two sticks of 128 just can't get the job done. It appears that one stick of 256 or (for the top scores 512) is the way to go. I do not know if the top scores are using one stick of 512 or two sticks of 256. BTW all top scores are also running Windows XP and XP chips. I do believe that there is more in my chip though I do not think I have what it takes to make number 1. I am of a mind that a different ram setup would assist me greatly....maybe to the tune of 500 points or so.

well there are three score in front of my with my appox setup. The highest is 800 over and they are running at 1.64 but FSB is at 160 and then one below it has 171 fsb. Also i did take notice of ram, i am running 512 and they are both running 256. Also i noticed one other thing... almost exact same setup and settings and then killed me in the nature test. But, i believe that my nature score is very low on every test, especailly compared to other regular geforce 3's not TI's. I think finding the one setting that would enable me to get this score up could greatly inhance my score.

Ran a slow setting and then bumped it on the nature and you are correct, nature does make a big difference. I score well in mature.

think it could just be a difference between the TI's and the regular gf3's??

No, there are a couple of Ti's running win XP and a little bit different ram configuration.

oh, well man i need to figure out the nature thing:rolleyes: , this has me wondering....

I do not know hwat to tell you on the nature thing. Mine has always cranked pretty hard on that one.

i think i might play around with it tonight and see how it runs with just one stick on 256 in there.

here is my compare link you killed my score in nature not beat it.

First off, don't feel bad. I seem to do well from there down if no where else. Accept that the gf3 (regular right?) should be killing me and lets go find out what nature is heavily dependant on. The setup looks good as far as ram, vid, os. When you run tests forget about all the others, just run nature. That is the one you are trying to fix. You are already using the 27 series so go to 27.7 detonators and riva. Set the ram for the most aggressive settings and if you can try lowering the mult and upping the fsb. You are a little low on the fsb. Look to sisoft memory scores for setting up the ram. High bandwidth. Not necessarily high fsb.

will do about the 27.7 drivers... i will crank the feb as high as i can get it stable and work with just the nature test... look forward to getting more help from you
