I got a new CPU

I Got a new 1.7Ghz Celeron, but my firend just told even a 1.3 is better than 1.7ghz. Can u hys tell me how's my cpu?????

sorry, but your friend is right.

the 1.7 celeron is a crippled version of an already crippled cpu.

did u do ur homework b4 buying a processor? im in a market for buying a P4 system now but dont know which processor to go for?

don't get a P4 celeron.
even though the 2.0ghz is built on the northwood core, it's use of only 128k L2 is a real crippler.

either wait until the P4 celerons are using 256k or more L2, or get a fully fledged P4.

Well it depends in games it would beat out the 1.3 because of the memory bandwidth in sandra type cpu score the cache makes a difference,personally tho if your on a budget it still smarter to get the 1.7 if your hocking out for a new mb and cpu cause your future options are more open.Also if your considering unloading your setup now you would get more than 6 months from now.If your on a really tight budget than intel shouldn't be your first consideration http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/02q2/020612/index.html
