hi, i have a question about motherboards. i am getting ready to build me a new computer . i am looking for a cheap but reliable motherboard that i can overclock the cpu easily. i know cpu ,s are not really easy to overclock cause i have done it to a couple already. if u have any suggestions on the best to buy and any info on them please let me know. any ideas on cpu would be helpful also . what type of celeron cpu should i buy. thanks

The Best Combo is the Celeron1.1A for 80$ and the Abit ST6 for 80$ for 160$ that combo will probably get you up to 1.5GHZ rock stable with a 15-20$ heatsink....

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS:p

PS: If you want a little higher end board the Shuttle and Gigabyte P4 boards are great for price/performance (60-80$) and a P41.6A will oc to like 2.4-2.5GHZ (180$)

I agree w/ funnyperson1...the 1.1a and an ST6 will put you where you want to be. I got my Abit VH6T for a little cheaper than the ST6, so if money's real tight (like it was for me), that would be my second option...

and welcome to the forums!

I tried to find the mobo for sell on ebay. no luck on finding it though. do you know of a website that sells them by any chance. any help would be appreciated and thanks for the reply,s. all the computer stores where i live are ripoffs. they overcharge cause its a university town and locals take advantage of students. thanks

Try pricewatch.com for the best prices and stores that sell it.

I just got an Abit SA6R for $94 bucks delivered to my door. i sent you a PM with the guys address from whom I purchased the board from, he seems to have an abundence of Abit boards. Check your PM for his e-mail addie.. Hope it helps.. :burn:

For motherboards, newegg.com, mwave.com (multiwave), directron.com, or pui.com (power up) are all reputable online retails that I've done business with before that generally have good prices.
