i have 2 hdd w/2 diff os's primary has xp pro and secondery has xp home i want to know if i can us a hot key to switch between os's is that possible

Not that I am aware of would have to reboot to access the second drive. That was my main reason for killing my dual boot the last time I did it.

on the 2 nd hdd i had xp home full then i got a bigger hdd a 40 gb and my wife got xp pro for me the 2mnd hdd which is a 8 gb came out of my old comp which my son uses now so thats how i got 2 os's both full versions :D

I think the only is rebooting between HDD's. that is what I had to do, I didn't like so I Formatted and just had 1 partition.

you dont need 2 though, xp pro is exactly like xp home, just more features if you have dual cpus, and a few network and web server things. If I was you I would just erase the windows directory on the 2nd hdd, erase the entry in the boot.ini for that second os, and just use the xp pro.youll still have all your files plus some extra room. or use the 2nd HDD to learn linux, or something.. unless your a bencher. I once had a dual boot of xp pro, just so I could use the small one as a testing OS, that way I could test drivers and such without screwing up my primary if I dint like it, no big deal. easy to format too
