you know how they have mb's with dual cpu slots?could they make a mb with dual agp/pci slots where you can use 2 different hadware devices at the same time?like how they do it with the cpu's.

If what you are really asking is about using two video cards, the solution is to use a dualhead video card, like the Matrox Millenium G400Max.

I think your on your way to opening up one big can of worms. :) I think your talking about multitasking and that's already happened.

With the new windows NT came a fully multitasking Operating System. Before NT OS's used task switching where the cpu could only do one thing at a time and "switch" between tasks. Now with win NT the cpu has the ability to do multiple things at once. Thus in essence I guess you are already using two devices at the same time, say your playing a online game. your using your video card and your network card. To play a game. With win NT data form both the NIC and the video card are being transferred back and forth form the cpu at the same time.

So to make all that into something understandable without a Cheez Wiz University Degree. The ability to use multiple hardware devices is driven by the OS.

Hope that answers your question or maybe I just blew you away in which case I can put it into different words. Let me know.

If this sounds wrong to anyone let me know. I just spent a whole semester in college learning about that. Maybe I learned something too. Or maybe my brain is still soaking it all in.
