I think it should.

i have the game, and i use a GeForce3 Ti 200. and it runs fine and well. there are a few laggy spots maybe, but thats when there are like a full 16 people in a deathmatch or something like that.

Actually, i ran the game, with a full 32 bots, set on spectate mode, with the AI set up to max. up to 100 frags.

The game ran fine, and didn't have much problems.

so on your card, it should run Just fine. only time you should notice anything, might be due to lag.

intriguing thanks for the heads i might go out and grab a copy feel like my usual games
are kind of boring

Yup, the game should run more than fine.

Realize, however, that this game is capable of stress moments. I usually run at max settings at 1280x1024 resolution. Things run just fine except in certain scenarios. When I play an onslaught map with 20+ players and they're all on screen at once making explosions the fps slows down to maybe 20-30. However, 99% of my playtime is accompanied by high fps.

So a 9700pro should be more than fine. Just watch out for games like FarCry =P (it stinks when you have to tone down the detail just to get sniper-worthy fps)

yeah my 5200 can handle UT2k4 just fine so your more then good to go!..thats on mid settings :eh?:

cool really cool think imma head out tomorrow to buy btw how many disc is it, is it the same as ut2k3 with 3 ?

Yep it will run fine. I used to use a Gforce 3 ti 200 too and it ran just fine. Luckily I got a good deal on a 9800 pro and I am on that now. Which reminds me that I need to put that Ti 200 in this box:D

it will run just fine...i run it more then fine with the specs that are in the sig...ur 9700 is much better then my 9600xt...i run it at 1078 with high details just fine

6 cds, or 1 dvd; same price. of the 6 install cds, disc one doubles as the play cd, though once you download the latest patch you will not need a cd to play.

Actually Calculusaurus thats wrong.

there are 5 install CD's. the 6th Disc is the play disc. the 6th disc. is not an install disc at all...er..sorta. you have to put that disc in. for the game to finish installing, but thats just to get it to finish.

in unreal 2k3, the first disc was also the play disc. but not for this game.

Eh, i can be to technical at times.

Hehe, sorry about that. I wasn't really paying attention to what was going on while I installed that game. Anyway, the game comes with 6 CDs.... that's a lot.

I run it on max settings w/ GF4ti4200. Smooth as butter. Your 9700pro will allow you to use 4xfsaa and other settings that makes my card grumpy and stubborn ;)

How can you do that? W/ my setup, I put everything on max and maps like AS-Glacier and AS-Robotfactory KILL my fps (like, 5-10). Granted, 1 on 1 dm maps are fine, but anything big and forget it. I run it at 1280x1024 but w/ no AA or AF. After reading this thread I did bump the levels up to "Higher" and things are still smooth, but we'll see. At the absolute highest setting, everything went to crap. Is it because it demands more video memory than I have?

on my rig I run ut2004 on max settings @ 1024x780 w/ no FSAA etc. It runs smooth w/ full settings on my 2nd rig as well and it is not as peppy.

according to your sig your rig should play 2004 w/ out a hitch.

Runs fine on an 8500 I have here at the moment.
Of course, I usually don't bother with full eye candy optimization and so on.....
"Good enough" is good enough for me.

UT2K4 should run fine for you. My softmodded 9500 can handle it just fine, it's my XP1800 that's holding back my framerates :D Messing with detail and OCing the video card does little to my framefrate, so if you have a descent CPU, you should see high 30s I'd say (unless it's more CPU bound than I think :D).

so... who here can run dm-hyperblast on full settings (game settings, aa, af) with 32 bots and smooth fps? =P
