I'm so disappointed.... I just got a Tbird 900mhz, that I'm using with my KT7Raid Mobo, I unlocked it fine but can't get anything higher than 1050mhz, I set my multipliers to 10 and FSB to 105, that's the only way that will work (if I set my multiplier at 11 and FSB to 100 won't work) can someone help me or anybody has an idea of what can be wrong plz?
Here's my system spec to be more specific:
Abit KT7Raid
Tbird 900mhz Unlocked
256mb Ram (pc100)
300w PS
3D Prophet II Gforce Pro 64mb
11 case fans

If Anybody can help me I really appreciate it :0)
Thanks fellows o/cers !

well the t birds dont overclock as much as the duron

second off thats a good overclock for a KT133 board

and third i got my TBIRD 850 @ 1016 and its smoking

thats @ 1.85 volts

you should do the voltage mod on that board and you should get a little higher

whats your temps?

Well my Core V. is at 1.85 aswell and my tempteratures run at 28C the lowest and 40C the highest

meja

ive managed to slowly push my 1ghz tbird all the way up to 1233.6mhz my first attempts were not very successful I think I pushed to hard this is what i did
started with 10.5 mlt and 104 FSB and burned my chip in with the rc5 program for 24 hours then i would bump it a little and burn for 24hours
this worked for me try it and see what happens

Thanks alot for your help! Hmm if you did it and it worked for you prolly would work for me too.. but what program is that (I don't really know) if you have time please let me know how to do it.
Thanks alot for your time :)

Not such a bad O/C

I haven't managed much better. Sure, it looks so much more impressive when you can say you overclocked a Duron 600 to 1 GHz. But in reality, that Duron is still running at 1 GHz, and a Duron 800 @ 1050 is still going to be faster.

For sheer bragging, you definitely want to go for the Duron 600. If you are concerned about performance, look at the final speed. Unless you have a blue core, you're not going to get much over 1050 MHz with an Athlon.

If you are really unhappy with the speed, wait about 2 months and then buy a 1.1, there's a good chance it will be able to hit 1250 or above.

I have the same Abit KT7 and the same 900mhz Tbird with the exact same results, 1050mhz is it! I cannot get the CPU to eek out just 10 more mhz. It doesn't even really run that hot, but apparently this is just the limit of the CPU, green core. Supposedly the blue cores will overclock much better, but the debate as to whether these are actually copper units made in Dresden is still out for the jury, as it is now being reported that AMD might not have ever started producing copper CPU's in mass.
