I just bought a asus a7v133 for just 2 weeks ago. The chipset fan stopped running...............

All seemed to be fine. Even runned it stable with 2 sticks of 133mhz ram and one 100mhz at 133fsb! tbird (avha) [email protected](133fsb). But suddently it started to crash and then i couldnt even post when had it at 133fsb. Opened up the chase an saw that the chipset fan had stopped running. Had to manually start it to get it running again. But cant boot anymore at 133fsb not can boot on 132 but gets really unstable:(((( Tried replacing just the fan with an coolermaster fan i used on my k62 450 just to check if i could get it stable again but NOOO WAY.

So is my chipset fried??????? Can i never get this mobo back to 133fsb which is DEFAULT since its an kt133a chipset.

And wtf am i always so unlucky when buying stuff?

mbm5 shows that the chipset is 31c right now which shouldnt be too high to keep it running it at default speed?

wtf should i do then?? Do u think it will help if i get a new chipset fan??
And what fan should i get?? plz give me a link or something

I dont personally have this mobo so my ideas and advice are somewhat educated guess work

I dont think the chipset fan stop working would personally stop the system from rebooting at 133 mhz as some mobos dont even feature fans on the chipset and dont have major problems... My first idea would be to remove the stick of PC100 ram ..even though that was running OK at 133 mhz it may not now and may be whats holding your system back

see if that works

can try that. but the chipset was really hot when touching it. As u know mobos that comes without fans got a bigger heatsink. The a7v133 dosent nearly got any heatsink at all just some plastic thingie the fan is mounted. When the mbm5 get over 31c i just get an blue screen then it reboots automaticly. thats on 132fsb. on 133 i just get lots of beeps and no post. If letting it cool down for a while it posts but black screen when it should boot

Now i relly need help. I tried different multipilere/fsb settings and **** and suddently i get no post at all. It was when lovering the multipilere. This has happened to me before on some settings but then all i had to 2 was taking the cpu out running it without the cpu until i get the beep(no cpu installed) Then put it back in and it USED to post at default settings. But no nothing at all. Tried clearing cmos, taking battery out and everything. Nothing on screen and no beeps at all..............:( taking out the ram and see if i can get the any beep but nothing not even a F***ing sound at all. WTF is wrong???? I dunno what too do now. Putted in my old duron and the **** posted at once even runned fine on 135fsb.

I got no clue at all now. The cpu cant be dead can it?? if so it should have beeped or something? Also i let it run for a while and then touch the hsw but it feels cold as hell(too cold to be running).

But if its dead why the F*** should it die when it has runned stable for 2 weeks on this setting?? And it has neve been over 50c loaded so it cant be fried.
