I've asked a couple times for opinions on a P3 motherboard with whatever options and blah, blah, blah to replace my faithful, but well worn, Soyo 7VCA. I finally made up my mind and it wasn't any of the boards (about 8 in the running) I originally was looking at.

I've decided to go ahead and get another P3 1GHz and the Abit VP6. Has everything I was looking for in a board, except it was a dually...so I said to myself, "Dammit, just get another processor to!"

Case closed and I feel at ease.

Thanks to all who gave me options when deciding...

I think I can win a Pulitzer or something if I were to write a thesis on how being satisfied with your rig is directly proportional to how empty your pockets are...haha.

It'll still be a couple weeks or longer (3 tops) but I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Umm...didn't I recommend you getting another 1G and getting the VP-6?

Maybe...I honestly don't remember. I just ordered it from Newegg.com though. Board only, processor will have to wait about 2 more weeks when I have the cash...bills are killing me. I'll probably buy that local as a place nearby has a good price on them. About even after you figure in shipping from anywhere else.

I thought long and hard about just ordering an AMD mobo/proc combo as it wouldn't have been any different than what I'm doing now, but I bit my tongue (I'm so indecisive when it comes to my parts) and just ordered.

All I have left now is to wait...

Never thought about that. Mine's a stepping 10 cD0 chip. I'm going to assume I'll get the same thing from the local retailer I got my current one (hoping more like it...I know these guys are going to go "Huh?" if I tell them to get me one with those specs.

I had heard that it causes jerkiness and whatnot if they're not the same...I never had to worry about this before considering all the places I worked ordered directly from Intel and such.

What are the chances of them not being the same coming from the same retail outlet that orders from one source?
