quick question for you intel buffs,

i have a p3 700 @1 ghz (ish), but my temps are starting to get high since the heat is on in my house because of winter.

i need a new hsf to replace my now old thermoengine.

i was thinking about that new volcano 7 with the adjustable rpm fan? think its a good buy?

thanks for any suggestions.

Volcano 7+ is extreme overkill for your P3, even OC'd in a warm room. The Volcano 6cu (not the "+" version, as it has a noisy 7k RPM fan) would be a good choice, especially since my local vendors sell them for just US $12! :)

EDIT: Here's a link to the vendor I bought mine from.

I love my AX-7 and I've got a 48.5CFM YS-tech fan to go with it and its not too loud either

...wouldn't recommend a variable temp fan
