an Athlon64 3200+ with 512KB L2 on newegg with a NF3 250GB EPOX motherboard. Don't forget to get an aftermarket cooler (ThermalRight SLK-948u), and some good RAM

hey thanks for the reply

im wondering is the 512k l2 better than the 1mb l2 on thos 64 bitters, also would the 3000 be a good deal or the 3200?

I've heard that thew extra 512k doesn't do much at all.. On the Intels it gives a 0.5% incresse in speed... I haven't seen the tests with the 64s yet, but its not worth the extra $$$ i reckon.

i know you can overclock the 3400 so about 2.4-2.5ghz and the 3200 goes a bit higher or same! the best for overclocking would be the 3000+ i would think(correct m if im wrong) from Newegg

3200+ is the best, as all the 512k cached Newcastles are actual Newcastle cores. (AX SKU code)
some 3000+ have stripped own cached "FAKE" Newcasles. (512k cache with AP SKU)

Yes some are striped down clawhammers, but the 3200's are like that also thier was no garuntee.

Now tho newegg is selling "AX"Boxed 3000, 3200, and 3400's. Which means thier garunteed real CG revisions.

I belive the 3200+ newcastle is a waist of money, now that CG's are garuntee in the AXBOXED cpu's the 3000+ seesm to be the better choice. Thats why i orderd one.
