Ok awhile back I read a post about how to change you L2 cache in windows Xp. I remember when I did it the first time it was at 0, but I had to format and reinstall and now I can't find the post.

That post is an Urban Legend. It in no way affects how the OS sees the L2 cache on current processors...

That has been in left in the OS for non-ACPI based CPU's like the old Pentium Pro's.
