Hello everyone :). Over the summer, I plan to build my own computer and I have done quite a bit of research. But I still have some questions. BTW, this build is completely from scratch.

First off, I am not a gamer. That's why, as you will see, my video card isn't the best (but from what I know, it's the best in it's price range). As for my processor, I know this one is right for me. That was my intro. I just have to add that I have a budget around $900. The listed prices are w/out tax and shipping but they do include rebate

So Here is what I have chosen so far:

Edited: New Keyboard and New CD/DVD drive

In EBAY, I could probably only spend around $650 and get some better parts (like the asus maximus formula)

Questions that I have about my choices:
1) What am I missing (other than ordinary cables)?
2) Will everything be compatible (I think so, as I have some computer knowledge, but I want to be sure)?
3) If anything isn't compatible or won't work to it's best, what changes would I need to make?
4) Did I pick the right products? I am looking for best in price range, or best "bang for buck"
5) Is there anyplace I can get these cheaper (w/out losing trust)?
6) How safe is ebay for the majority of these items?
7) Depending on where I buy things, could I only end up spending $700 w/ tax and shipping?
8) If you have anything else to say that pertains to this, go ahead!

I know this might seem long, but I wanted to get the best results. Thank you for your patience!

Thanks,

Andrey

BTW, all of the links are coded but if it's better to have a link you can click on, I will change it as soon as I check back on this.

Monitor - Wow 150 for only a 17 inch? My friends have paid about 220ish for 22 inch Acer and they love it. Check this out: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009094

Case - You'll have to ask others but I'm pretty sure all Antec cases are good. I just ordered a P182 myself.

Power Supply - For that amount of money definitely go for a Corsair or a PC Power & Cooling. They are the top PSUs right now. Check this one out (I just bought it myself): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004&Tpk=550vx

CD/DVD - For that price I would get a Lite-On burner. Top of the line IMO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106070

Hard Drive - For $15 more you can double the size: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148136

Mobo - Looks good! I just ordered a P5K Premium myself.

CPU - Its up to you if you want to ebay. If you want quad Q6600 is best I think. Dual best is E8400 for $199.

Heatsink - Others will have to weigh in on this. I paid more for a Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme ($57)

Memory - See what the others say. Heres some Corsair at the same price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145184

Vid Card - I've heard good things about XFX so I went with them myself! Just ordered a 8800GTS 512MB. They have a good warranty I've heard so if that's all you need you should be good.

Cables and stuff should come with the mobo. You put a keyboard on there but what about a mouse? Hmmm speakers too maybe? I think everything should be compatible. Stuff looks to be a good bang for buck for what you want in the system (tho if you aren't overclocking you could get a cheaper mobo I think, you'll have to ask the other guys here). I love newegg because they have good RMA and returns and I would pay more to go newegg personally. I also wouldn't trust ebay too much. Your results may vary. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your replies :) !

@ z-95: As for the monitor, I can't spend more than $150 on it so I can't buy the $220 one. But I did see some @ ebay for less than $100.
As for the power supply, mine seems like the better deal and it's cheaper overall, yet the original price is $50 more than the Corsair. And they both have similar reviews, so I think I will stick with mine (unless there is something else you want to add about this). Thanks though.
As for the RAM, I think I should stick with OCZ (and file for a rebate early) because of the lower latency and timings. Thanks though!
Thanks for reminding me about the speakers- I will need to get some. As for the mouse, I already have one at home for the laptop. Thanks!
As for the CD/DVD drive, I will take your advice (and I will now change it at the top). Thanks!
As for the HDD, I think I should stick w/ mine because it will give me a better performance for the cheaper price (since it only has one platter, at least that's what I heard). Besides, I don't think I need that much space anyway :). Thanks though.

@ Freezer7Pro: The reason I got such an overkill of a mobo was because I do plan on overclocking a lot and I want to have the complete options and the wifi will be needed at home. If I settle for the cheap ones, I know I will regret it down the road. But thanks anyway!
As for the keyboard suggestion, I have chosen something else. It's very similar to a laptop keypad, which I like the best. There is another one too though. Thanks!
