So I played AC1 2 and 3. I don't think I finished the one set in America. My main complaint with a couple of them is that the endings were disappointing. I would be a perfect Assassin and have to switch to some magic ball or something to finish the game.

I want to pick up Origins($9) or Odyssey($12) as they are so cheap. Which one is fun ? Or has a good ending ?

Black flag is consistently one of the highest regarded games of the series.

Origins, my understanding, changed the gameplay a bit (more loot related) but highly regarded. Odyssey is sometimes called 'Morigins' as it is just more of it, so probably worth finding if you like it

Here is another question. I liked AC 2 as you got to repair and rebuild Ezio's home from it's decrepit state. I get a lot of satisfaction in that. Oblivion had the same type of thing with a haunted mansion. Any newer ones have that ? The W3 had the vineyard that Gerault could retire to in the W3 DLC. From Reddit it looks like AC BF has a Pirate haven to rebuild.

Oh that's NOTHING... I got Black Flag (IV) for like $4 not too long after it first came out.

And I got the Ezio Collection (think it was like four games starting with II) for 9 bucks a couple months ago.

You should check out AC Unity.

I started AC BF. It is harder to play with the dated graphics. The control of the character is jenky and takes getting used to. I'll play for 2 more hours to give it a chance before I uninstall and try something else. I can't put up with any tedious game play for something that isn't modern looking.

They've remade almost every AC game. (I still have the originals on PS3 discs).

Just look-up the ones available for PS5. They should all be remasters. (Or maybe there's a list of remastered PC versions on Wikipedia?)

From what I can tell I think it's just 1-3? And somewhat ironically, as someone who listens to multiple gaming podcasts a week, I could not have told you that they were at all remastered.

@dfonda search for some mods for the game. It's possible that that would resolve some of the issues you're having.

I played with the settings Pretty much Maxed now. I am holding off on the Reshade as it's looking better. I was thinking they had raised the Assets later in the game. The FPS with a Nexus Mod is 240 now. It doesn't actually do 240 though it is close in the cut scenes.(My screen does 240FPS) It does run in the 100's pretty much all the time so it looks good. Got rid of the slight nausea though 4 or 5 hours of game play also caused that and after a break I was able to play again even without the FPS mod. The shader mod might have some bugs. So I'll check that out towards the end.

I do find it fun but I skipped a lot of the tedious stuff and gave myself money so I didn't have to grind. I have my ship maxed out other than the sunken ship upgrades which are locked through game play. I heard a character talking about the ship wrecks last night. Should not be much further in the story to unlock. My Harbor/Mansion is also now fully upgraded , I always enjoy that part of games. Having a nice sanctuary. The one thing I find problematic is choosing your weapons and outfits. It doesn't give a clear indication which you have selected. Maybe it selects the best weapons you have , not sure. I'll Google. EDIT: Ok you need to be at your ship mannequin or General store to select them. My print screen button didn't work for some screen shots ?

With a few changes(cheats) and Mods still playable in 2025.

Don't get the Mirage if you like playing as a stealth long range player. They don't have bows and only got throwing knives. Just awful.

I'll be done with AC after this one. I'll have more fun replaying FC 5 or 6 . The stealth in this one is pretty bad. I also forgot how bad the land based follow the target missions were.:cautious:

Nahh... 1-3 were remastered, yes... but also the Ezio Collection alone contains: Assassin’s Creed® II, Assassin’s Creed® Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed® Revelations. All remastered.

Then were was another BIGGER collection that came out around the same time as Origins. I think it contained Origins, Odyssey, and a couple other games... none of which had been released on Next Gen before that.

Okay. I haven't played this game so I looked it up. I have an XBox 360 that I got used a few years ago and almost never used it. I thought that if AC IV is highly regarded, then I'll spend the $4 for the XBox 360 version from fleaBay. It shall arrive in about a weeks time.

Thanks for the idea.

I gotta say leaving a fortress after liberating it. and having your crew singing and the waves splashing is a true joy to behold.

I played Sid Meier's Pirates back in '04 and it was like this.

Wait a minute... You "hadn't played" WHAT game and you had to look up WHAT??!

You never HEARD of Assassin's Creed before??

I had forgotten.:cautious:

It has been a question for me what part of all the games I find least fun. I have often wondered why a game writer/developer would include something so bad just to make their game longer.

The worst offenders are both in Ubi games (Odd Right ? :) )In Farcry it is anytime they put you in a dream sequence either drug induced or for some other reason, I hate it and suffer through it. Unless it's optional as in one game maybe FC 4 where to put yourself through it again after the initial obligatory scene only meant missing 100%.

No, it's the Gawd awful follow (On land) and eavesdrop mission's in AC games. It stopped me last night and makes me wonder if I'll just quit the game . There was one I did earlier last night in the ship that was fun. It is just such a contrived thing that is so annoying even 12 years ago that it should only happen 4 times at most in the game. You either have to repeat it 10 times till you stumble upon the route, or look it up on YT. I hate it. It is one of the main reasons I quit these games long ago, along with their garbage endings. FC and FC 6 are the only ones in that series that had decent endings. If I was involved in the endings of the other games folks would have loved them. They would have been uplifting and happy instead of reminding the player of how awful they and the world is.

Rant Over.

Yep I detest those types of missions, or ones where stealth is required and it's otherwise certain death or alarm goes off and mission failed.

Similar in the needing to drive behind a car in GTA without losing sight but also not being noticed

So got through that, must have been tired. Got tied up clearing islands looking for the Elite upgrade plans and only need 2 more. I ran into an off limits island where the Elite Fire Barrel treasure map is. So I did a close by Island for the fast travel point and I'll get back to the Main Story now. I wish you could reload the Legendary Ships and the Forts like in FarCry now that they are gone only the story remains.

Wow I only played the first 3 games and this the 4th is the first one with a great not good ending. I actually had tears in my eyes during the prologue.:cry:. Started Origins tonight. I may go back and sail the seven seas again to tie up some loose ends. I was able to skip most of the game annoying modern day crap.
