i thought it wasnt the cords that made the difference, i thought it was just the device, and any other devices on the cord

i guess i was mistakin

i got a question, whats the difference between ata100 and ata33 cords if they both will fit in the same thing on your mobo?

The ATA 66, 100, and 133 cables are all the same. They are 80 wire/40 pin cables. The ATA33 and lower cable are 40 wire/40 pin. If you use an ATA66 and above drive with the ATA33 40 wire cable, it will default to ATA33. The motherboard BIOS should give you a warning as well. You must run all ATA66 and higher devices on a 80 wire cable.
