I think my USB ports might be dead

Hello, I own a Acer e5-511 and my USB ports just stopped working all of a sudden. I wanted to do a fresh Windows installation and bios doesn't recognize my USB flash drives (3 of them). I tried both Legacy and UEFI boot and I still don't see any of the flash drives under boot menu. In windows I also have this problem - any device that I plug in USB just doesn't work all of a sudden. I can see USB ports under device manager and the driver is installed. I would appreciate if anyone could come up with a solution. Thanks in advance.

Are the ports receiving any power? Try to plug something in which has a light, so you can see. If the ports appear to be completely dead, I'd suggest opening the laptop to see if a cable came loose.
