That corsair obsidian case is built for full water cooling, if your using the H50 might i suggest saving yourself a bit of $$$ and going with the coolermaster HAF 932 case? That would give you more headroom to play with for the memory, im running 6g of Kinston Hyperx 8-8-8-21 @ 2000mhz and its great memory.

I really like the G.Skill RipJaws but wouldnt four sticks be quad channel?

Also not a big fan of the HAF...

Anyone using the Ultra M998? Looks very nice.

The Ultra m998 is a damn fine case too. I would tend to steer towards the Ultra m923 full tower if your going to be using SLI just so the cards have plenty of breathing room. If your looking to use the G.Skill Ripjaws there are the triple channel kits available. Going i7 id stick with the tri-channel sets because using 8gb is going to void the tri-channel advantage in bandwidth.
Unless your doing some heavy rendering I see no point in anything above 6gb atm.

I plan on folding with the rig.
With the new Big WU's 6gb of ram is minumum.

Im kinda torn between a case with a window or no window.

Silverstone makes some really nice looking cases but dang they are pricey.

Stacker 830 Evo?

As for memory I was thinking 4x2 for 8g total.
there are a few 3x4 kits though.

I would recommend using (2) 3 x 2gb kits as the mobo itself has 6 slots available, allowing you to use the full bandwidth available for the ram. The Stacker Evo is a nice case as well, alot of features i like in it and good cable management.

Those sticks will run damn nice for ya, ive always used g.skill product until my last build and only becuase kingston also lifetime warranties the hyperx series. I got a great deal on the ASUS WS Revolution mobo and since i had 3x GTX 260's i figured i might as well put them to good use. I'm truly amazed at the difference in tri-sli going from the EVGA 780i and q6600 oc'd to 4 ghz to the i7's much better scaling for tri-sli. Get that puppy up and running and lets see some screenies!

Well making some progress to finishing this thing.

Stopped by Microcenter today and picked up some goodies.
-HAF 932 case
-Win7 Home Premium 64 bit
-Corsair H-50 rev2
-4 Xigmatek white LED fans 120mm

Already dissasembled the case to paint the inside black.

Ordering the Mobo and RAM tonight. Only going with 6gb for now (limited cash). Recycling a 500gb WD Blue drive from my main rig.

Not sure what Im going to do for a GPU just yet. Might swap the 8800Ultra from the HTPC to the i7 rig till I get some cash for a GPU.

Ill start a new thread for the HAF 932 painting soon.
