I just swapped my modem over my machine as it has win98 SE on it, adn therefore ICS, whereas the other is 98 FE.
I set up the connection, which works, i enabled ICS, i used the disk and the connection wizard for the other computer. But it still cannot connect to the net via this machine.
I know the network is fine as i can swap files across it willy nilly.

Any ideas?

Yes. Try a little prog called AnalogX Proxy. I had all 4 of my machines sharing a single DSL line with this. I stopped using it only because I was still unable to run F@H on auto-pilot. The three rigs that accessed the net through proxy couldn't u/l complete wu's, nor d/l new work. Other than this prob, I had no other issues with AnalogX. If you're interested in giving it a shot, you can get it here.

Well after downloading and installing this software i am still unable to connect to the net on the other machine

I set up IE to use this machine ip and the right ports but it still cant pull up a page.

This is starting to really annoy me cos if i cant get it working i will have to put the modem back on the old machine adn use that whenever i want the net, which is bad.

*edit* DOh, my bad, forgot to turn windows ICS off :)

Any time I have setup ICS on a LAN I never used the client disk. I enable it on the host, then go into the internet setup on the client and tell it to connect to the net through LAN, never had a problem.
