I have the iCUE SW, version 5.17.110 for my Corsair keyboard. Everything was working fine, I'd turn on the PC, and my keyboard would set the colors I had designated.

About a few months, no new software installed either, it just stopped starting up upon startup, and keyboard will light up with a flowing rainbow (Corsair's default setting)- not for me. I have to open iCue SWare now each time in order to see something that should be automatically done.

I checked the iCUE SW and the checkbox for "start on system start up" is checked.

What's going on? My last keyboard was only one color so I had no issues....

Current rig in sig file.

What have you tried so far???

Is the software updated to the latest version?
Have you tried to uninstall, reboot, and then reinstall the software?
Did you check the system events and see if there are errors on startup with the program?

Recently my icue software completely stopped working. The folder is there, but the executable did nothing. I ended up finding several previous versions installations/old folders and thought there's a conflict. I suggest a clean install of the software. You can export your profiles first so you don't lose them (in icue) and then import them after. The import/export tab are the two arrows, it's not intuitive...just hover your mouse over the icon.

After the clean install, be sure to remove any left over folders. Do a search where they are. The newest version of the software is 5.18 something. Once you do the install, import your profiles, see if any hardware needs a firmware update etc.

This should clear up your issues.

A recent previous version this happened. I did uninstall and reinstall, restart but no fix. According to the SW it’s the latest, despite the post below- I can update it perhaps.

I did not check sys events - will do!

Im not too familiar with Win 11 yet. I’ll search for icue after uninstalling.

I’m not sure if there is firmware for the Corsair keyboard- will check. All other items are current I believe, except for the intel cpu microcode issue that affects many people.

Yeah, not sure why your software isn't picking it up, but the latest on the website is the version Pepi mentioned.

If you're looking for the install folders its in Explorer.. just drill down and see where it's installed. Typically in Program Files x86/........... you'll see it (I don't have it, sorry).

One click to check software for each device and one click per device to check firmware, in icue.

The key is the clean install of icue

Use RevoUninstaller, followed by deleting all the leftover folders.

RevoUninstaller- thanks new one to me!

Thanks! Last time I felt on that SW! Will do!

Folders are in Program Files, Program Data (hidden folder), user/appdata/local (also hidden folder), user/appdata/roaming

And then you can run regedit and look for corsair folders in Current User, Local Machine, Users and look for the SOFTWARE tabs for each section, and delete corsair folders or icue. This regedit step, do only if you're comfortable and know exactly what you're looking for and deleting.

On the Revo Uninstaller, were you suggesting I use the free version? Or install a free trial version of Revo Un. Pro? >> https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo-uninstaller-free-download/

Thank you. I'm always careful about RegEdit!!! :ROFLMAO:Man, especially with Win11, folders/programs seem to be much more spread out throughout your computer than say Win7 used to be. I also had this corsair page bookmarked from my last install before this post.

Free portable version is fine, and is what I use and you'll want to search for remaining leftover files after the uninstall, and delete all what revo finds, before you go manually to look for leftovers, followed by regedit.

Check to make sure the new windows dynamic lighting app isn't enabled. It was messing up my son's lighting.

Thanks I didn't know MS was in the business of controlling this now too. I didn't even know of this feature nor when it came out.

I say this because I wonder if MS feature was a somewhat recent update, and started the issue. Seems to have come out maybe in 9/2023..

I looked inside and the settings for this MS feature all are turned on.

Yet, there are no device "cards" in my window for Dynamic Lighting as shown in this MS link. Did your son's computer show device cards? I don't think Corsair is part of this MS feature. However anything is possible.

I turned the Dynamic Lighting on my devices slider to off

I checked system events and I did not notice anything with Corsair or iCUE.

I exited out of Corsair iCue, and went into Window's Uninstall program, and the software is not listed...that's weird! I've never seen a program that wasn't in the list for uninstall. what the hell. Same thing happened w/the suggested SW too!

Installed the version you mentioned. When I opened the SW, the iCue doesn't appear in the list to be removed. It doesn't appear in Windows Uninstall either.

This is really weird, and now I'm stuck for now.

I did some searching on google, and MAYBE this will work for me below. There was another solution earlier in the thread but it did not work for the guy owcraftsman. I have not tried either yet. He has the same issue as me it seems, icue stops starting up on start up, and it stops appearing in order to remove it to do a clean install.
I sent an email to Corsair- who knows.

What do you guys think of the above?

I also found this one that involves regedit use, pg 2, by

You're fine, start deleting all the folders and then go into registry and do the same. Same thing happened to me. Exactly.

Before removing folders in windows, I looked through the registry, and while I can find corsair and icue folders and lines of "code" all over it, I'm reluctant to delete.

Delete all corsair folders in all the locations mentioned above, then finish off in the registry.

Heard back from Corsair- evidently it's a a result of Windows update in late 2023. Based on my internet searching with others of the same problem, it seems to be this update Windows 23H2

These Windows automatic, FORCED updates suck.

After going back and forth with Corsair- expected based on other complaints. They don't know why there's this issue, NOR do they know when a fix will be ready.

I started up my computer today, I didn't manually load icue, and out of curiosity I checked Win11's Uninstall list, and low and behold there is the icue software finally!!! YET, when click on the 3 dots to uninstall, neither install or uinstall is black, they are dimmed out...WEIRD.
