Has anyone figured out if it's possible to merge these two bars in the photo and gain a little more viewing area?

I've found a tweak which moves the Menu Bar back to the top (instead of the default placement between the Navigation Bar and the Tabs) as in previous versions of the browser. The registry needs to be edited though, and a new DWORD created under the following key...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER | Software | Microsoft | Internet Explorer | Toolbar | WebBrowser
Highlight the WebBrowser key, and in the RH pane select New--> DWORD Value | Name the new DWORD ITBar7Position | Right click the new Value name and select Modify | In the Edit DWORD Value dialog that opens, change the 0 in the Value data field to 1. Refresh the registry by hitting F5, and then restart IE.
