in order to effectivly make this work, and able to watch cable, dvd and use your computer as normal, what video card would one reccomend?

I dont recall seeing any video cards that have inputs, you should jus get a nice video card with S-video out (or, RCA if the tv ur using doesnt have S-video). Radio Shack has a S-Video splitter for 25 dollars. It also has RCA video and audio. Its what I use for my home theater system.

Heres one, not the one I have tho:

hmm, looks like they took the one I have out of stock, heres the best S-Video model that they have:

All-In-Wonder 7500 or 8500. I just got the A-I-W 7500 yesterdsay for my boss and it has so many features. It can do everything you described and more.

The All In Wonder Radeon would be a good buy for you at a cheap cost , Next would be the All IN Wonder 7500 as mentioned or a 7500 with a TV Tuner card added for the TV function and video capture function.

I love having TV on my pc via my TV tuner card, and I can output video games to my 40" widescreen HDTV at 1024x768 HDTV support.

I have a question about this maybe I can tag onto this thread. Just because I have TV out on my video card, will that send audio to my TV or do I need to do that separately? The S-video converter only has one RCA jack...

Does an all-in-wonder send audio with the TV signal?

TV out on a video card just sends the video the audio will still be out out through your pc sound card, unless you run it into your stereo reciever, then you would get sound via you stereo speakers.

I am not sure about an All IN Wonder (all models) and whether they would send audio with the video but for some reason I do not think they do, I may be wrong, the correct answer I am sure will follow.

Second I believe you can run audio line out from your sound card to audio line in on your TV if it has one.

Asus Deluxe cards have s-video input, and come with a s-video to composite cable adapter, also rca input and composite video in. Good performers too, but pricey.

the all in wonder radeon 8500 comes with a RF remote which can work through walls, that would be really cool. Plus it has 2 firewire ports, can record tv on your computer like tivo, and I think it can hook up to your sound card. I always wanted one, but I think they're like $300.
