Don't know, I abhor Asus motherboards...

Still, I'd go for a z270 chipset: what if your buddy, instead of getting a new CPU/MoBo in a few of years, add a few notches to the multi and keeps his rig for a few years more? It is a piece of cake to overclock those CPU's (set the multi to x48, the vCore to 1.25/1.3v and you're done!) Worth the 40 extra $$ IMO (are we on overclockers.com forums or what?!? ).

Then the video card is $40 more at Microcenter. Maybe I just order that from Newegg. They have it on sale. Time to build another list with MC and check out the prices. How come things like this become so time consuming haha. Again thanks for the info.

I'm like 3 days late on this but...

MicroCenter price matches. Newegg often has something on sale cheaper than MC can advertise. MC instead gets a $20-30 rebate usually to try and keep up with Newegg sales... so I'm that guy who goes in and buys the item, gets the full rebate, then goes back in and price matches the item so I get both savings. Just food for thought if you haven't purchased anything yet.
