I'm getting quick RAM. Should I get a mobile for higher FSB?

Hello.

I've got a 2500+ Unlocked Barton at the moment.

I'm getting PC3200 Hynix but I believe this is the same chips Corsair use in the XMS4400, so it'll be quick.

Should I get a mobile Barton?
If so which one?

First things first, you're gonna need a new board for memory like that. DFI is really the only choice. If you're already planning on a new board, I can't see how either processor could hurt.

I wasn't planning a new board....
Why is that? Is mine crap at high FSB?
I borrowed a friends RAM before and I made it do 225FSB.

230 is probably the highest you could get the Asus to go, I haven't seen too many go much higher than that. It could be worth a shot, I guess, but don't count on it to be able to handle the 250-260 that your memory will be able to. It's most likely that it wouldn't come close.

Okay thanks Gautam.

What do you think would make a good replacemnt board? DFI, are they nForce?

:)

EDIT: Is this any good DFI LanParty NFII Ultra-B (Socket A) Motherboard (MB-003-DF)
