Im having problems getting on the server

Ok I am having problems getting onto the server. Im running windows xp and the other computers on the network are running windows 98. The server is running windows nt. Someone asked me if i joined the nt domain. I'm not sure if that is the problem because I do not know how to do that. I just set up the network with the automatic thing on windows xp. If you could help I would appreciate it.

how did you setup the NT server? as a Domain controller, or member server. . .(not sure if thats what there called in NT)have you ever been able to connect to it?

I didn't set up the network these other people did, but they pretty much got fired because they pushed in the tab or whatever on the backup tape so it wouldn't write over stuff so nothing got backed up then our server crashed anyways Im not sure how it is set up. every other computer can get on. I even set up a computer running windows ME. I just can't figure out this computer.

If it helps I have joined the domain but it just acts like I have the wrong user name and password when it is the correct one
