If one were to build their own pc in a dvd player. Would they be able to use the same dvd drive that the player comes with?

It all depends I know very few players do. If you are interested in pulling this off someone already did it with an Apex Dvd player. That certain model used a regular IDE DVD drive

i've seen one made in an old VCR somewhere... but it's highly unlikely that many do use IDE drives.
