Ok, first I want to apologize for posting the topic about Abit BE6-II, because I've seen how many times it was mentioned before, and you probably are tired of seeing the name, but I just have a few q's about it.

I'm planning to buy it because my VH6 doesn't give me good voltage, and I need to build a second comp anyway. I've done some research on BE6-II, but I couldn't find much, so here it goes:

1) What are the FSB settings, I've looked and I think that you can go over 100, even have 111MHz FSB, but I'm not sure. (I checked CPU database)

2)Will an Alpha PAL 6035 w/Y.S.Tech fan fit on it? (this is an optional question)

I am planning to run the following on it=>
Celeron 600@a gig (cB0),
20Gig Maxtor 7200RPM,
cdr-w, dvd,
Sound Blaster AWE32(the old and crappy 16-bit one, but I'll get a Live later on.)
250W PSU

If you think there would be some problem in the configuration, please tell me.

Thanks for your time!

For a start look here For all the specs and it may be worth downloading the manual.
It uses softmenu III which I think offers up to a 150mhz fsb but you will need a good agp card to manage that.
The alpha pal would not be a good choice as it is quite tall, it would likely take up 2 dimm slots. The PEP was designed to be used in slockets but still takes up one dimm I think, this is quite common with slockets anyway.

If you only going to be using the cel 600 then the highest fsb I would expect is about 115mhz which is only a 77mhz fsb which should be fine on a v3k. It is more likely you will get between 105 and 112mhz which the card will handle fine.

Remember that the BE6-II is a slot one design, and I think it goes to 250fsb...the be6 only goes to 150. and if you use a pep h.s. then you will loose at least one dimm slot.
I like the SH6 because of the 815 chipset, but you only have a celeron, and the be6-2 should be just fine, and has most if not all the features you would expect from a BX chipset

The BE6 II v2 goes up to 200 mhz fsb, but come on now the infamous bx chipset has to have some limit.
It has a built in ata 100/raid controller that blows compared to a promise card, and sometimes is unable to recognize your hd's. has adjustable vio voltage which is a real plus.
However my be6 II v2 is unstable when set at 133 mhz fsb with the inline queue depth set to 8 (which if set to 1 really causes your memory bandwith scores to suck).
Now my bh 6 v1.1 inline queue depth is set to 8 and there is no adjustment for it in the bios like the be6. and it is rock stable at 133 fsb.
sounds like i'm complaining, well i'm upset that a 85 dollar mobo is more stable than my 125 dollar mobo.
have a good day and oc it till it hurts

Thanks for replying everyone! I did some thinking and maybe I'm going to vidping my CPU, and try gaining voltage this way. If I kill the chip, I can get a cC0 for cheap, and I've heard that my VH6 is very stable. Or if anyone can suggest a MB, that would give me a high voltage, it would be good. (I need something like 2V, just in case I need them).

The only reason I was thinking about BE6-II is because it is Slot Based MB, and a slot would give me voltages I want, but on the other hand, I don't care what slot or socket it is, I only need the voltage. And I've seen a lot of people use this board.

I'll keep you updated if I'll vidping!

I have the BE6 II with asus sloket and an Alpha 6035 it will take 2 dimms I have the fan that came with the HS and I cant easily see the brand/model of the fan. Yes it does have up to a 200mhz fsb But you think you will need more than 150? Havent heard anybody get that high. Also remember that Abit doesnt guarantee the board stable above 100mhz.

I need a class in punctuation!
