im thinking of getting a labtop

and i want internet for it. how much more money is wireless internet? i have cable internet now but since i got my labtop i cant use it. someone told me i need wireless internet. how much is that?

Do you want actual wireless internet, like provided through a cellular service provider?

Or do you just mean like wireless network for inside your house.

Also, why wouldn't you be able to use your cable with it?

I have a cable internet connection. It comes in through the roof in my brothers bedroom to a router. And the router is then connected to my PC, in the room, and via another cable to my laptop in my bedroom. I sit in bed and use my laptop sometimes, just means you have to have a cable plugged in the back of it.

You can get a wireless router for around $50. What laptops do you have in mind ?
Best Buy has a compaq 2108us for $899ar this week. All you would need is a wireless router and you would be good to go.

Zatrix, if you just want to lay in bed, you can get a cat5 cable that will reach your bed, but that could get annoying. The cooler way would be to get a laptop with a 802.11b or g card in it. Then buy a wireless router. Connect your cable modem to your wireless router. Then you will be able to use your cable internet wirelessly around your house.

wireless on cable is sweet. Just need a wireless router and a laptop with a wireless card and your set to go

plug the router in , turn your laptop on and and surf the internet

one thing is you can explore how far you can go and still have a signal
