I know this has probably been posted a million times, but I have been trouble deciding and I wanted some up-to-date information from you guys.

I am putting together a system and want to go with a 19in CRT geared towards gaming. I don't think I want to spend anything more than $300 unless $15 or so more will get me something significantly better.

I would preferably like the monitor to be black, but I guess it's not completely necessary.

Here are a few I have been looking at:

NEC MultiSync FP912SB
ViewSonic P95F+B 19"
SAMSUNG 957MB-Ivory 19"

I would appreciate your recommendations.

Thanks in advance guys.

The Samsung 955DF's are a pretty good bang for the buck. I'm getting one for the computer that I'm building for my brother. Around here they go for around $320 CDN, which is roughly $245 USD.

Samsung 955df at Dell for $195 with free ground shipping. I bought one and it is not too bad for a budget monitor. Just watch what resolutions you want to run. For example the 955df:
1024x768 @ 100 hertz 1280x1024 @75 hertz 1600x1200 @ 60 hertz

I have a Hitachi 21" CM802U that I bought off eBay 2years ago. It was an off lease monitor and works excellent. I paid about $265 w/shipping. It has all resolutions up to 1600x1200 @ 75hz depending on your video card. You should still be able to find them on eBay. IMHO Hitachi has always made the best picture tubes. Sony is a close second ;)
