Ok, this past weekend I tried (i really do mean tried) to play Far Cry on my new AMD 64 3200+ equipped system still using a the ATI AiW 8500DV. Man, what a blow to the game. As soon as I jumped into the game I was disappointed with the graphics. My card could not keep up and even after turning up all the graphics, it just crawling.

So now I am looking to buy a new ATI card. I chose the AiW line of cards because I am into video editing and still have quite a bit of stuff on tape. Plus I like being able to watch TV. I am thinking about the AiW 9800 Pro, but I wanted to know if anyone had heard of ATI releasing a new line of AiW cards. I assume I will need at least 128MB of ram if not more. I am thinking about getting the card some time in September around my Bday...so I have plenty of time to look.

Should I go with a AiW card or go with a gaming card and seperate ATI tv tuner? Any suggestions?!?

I would suggest a gaming card with an ATI tuner...

You will be more impressed/satisfied with something such as a Sapphire Card.

Get yourself a Sapphire 256 bit - 128 meg 9800 pro. You'll be more then happy to play farcry on that. Or a sapphire 256 bit/256 meg 9800 pro. :)

It there a major difference in the ATI 9800, ATI 9800 Pro, or the ATI 9800XT? Is there just a ram difference or is the performance really a big increase with each step up? Right now all I have is an ATI AiW 8500DV. It plays most games that I have just fine, but I would like a better card.
