Pretty much what it says in the title, not sure what happened. Could access the bios before but now I cant get into it with a USB keyboard or a PS/2 keyboard. Nothing works.

Also something else that started to happen when I installed the new heatsink, I sometimes get messages when plugging things into the USB telling me that there are faster ports free, and then lists about 8 free ports, which I dont have strangely enough.

Thanks

Without some background information such as you see in my signature at bottom of my post, there is not much we do but guess.

1. I have not seen such as you see happen.

2. If the specifics of your system were shown, someone may have seen "one" particular motherboard that does have that failing even if I have never heard of such.

3. Did the motherboard have to be removed to put one of newer HSF's on the mobo?

4. What HSF did you swap to since there are many and some are easier and less intrusive to install?

5. My guess is that the motherboard is in a bind or your hand/tool has touched where it was a no/no and hence the issue.

Ah sorry

Its an ASRock 1333 eSata2, not sure the Bios version
CPU is a Intel Q6600 and the cooler is a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus Socket 775, 1156,1155 AM2, 1366, AM3 Processor Cooler http://www.ebuyer.com/245376-cooler...-am2-1366-am3-processor-cooler-rr-b10-212p-gp

4gb of some ram, not exactly sure

500 watts
6870 ATI
2 hard drives, no raid
1 DVD burner
Onboard sound
USB devices are mouse, keyboard, a powered USB extender which has a bluetooth adapter, my phone charger and a bluetooth headset charger and soon a wifi adapter.

Windows 7

I had to remove the motherboard to attatch some screws behind it because my original cooler was a stock intel one.

The current heatsink is quite large and just touches the other side of the case, but I've took the side panel off so they dont touch.

Hope this helps in any way

Thanks, i'll try that.

I havent cleared the CmOs yet, I wanted to but until yesterday my graphics card was stuck in my case due to some accessory on my case getting in the way. I'll try that now.
