Installing my stuff today.. before adding the AS5 the correct way I found that under the heatsink already has some sort of compound.. in order for me to put this AS5 on do I need to scrap the compound off of the heatsink that already has it? Or just put the AS5 on the chip and go as it is

use some isopropol alcohol to wipe the junk thermal paste off the hs, then clean both surfaces (IHS, and HS) with the alcohol and let dry then apply AS5 the same way as always, and make sure the push pin thingys of the stock hs clip all the way in!

hey, any theories on why the stock heatsink has 3 sections of paste on it instead of the standard postage stamp section?
