Sorry, I'm tired tonight and I'm not quite parsing this.

I can use the luck because it is a good chip/setup?

I can use the luck because it is a bad chip/setup?

:confused:

It's a good chip/setup.:beer:

I also saw your thread about the Windows Vista x64 issues that you where having.

Ok, thanks :bday:

Most the x64 issues are just figuring out new behavior. I don't think any of them are unsolvable. Just have to figure the right way of doing it. Always have the boot drive be the lowest SATA drive in the system, etc...

Dudley, thank you !

Your VID number is strange, did you get those from CoreTemp ?

Did you turned off the Speedstep or C1E ?

Try this RightMark CPU Clock Utility (RMClock), it shows more VID level details and pick the highest one or maximal.
Just run it, it doesn't matter whether you're in OVOC or UVOC or at stock speed.

Once I got your confirmation, I'll update the the table, again, thanks ! :thup:

@torin3 :
Thanks, waiting for your result here ! ;)

well, i got this chip a few days ago, and i only ran it at its stock speed and voltage for the first initial boot. i wanted to run this chip at what i ran my e6600 at, wich is 3400mhz. mission accomplished! (with ease actually..:eek:)

CPU : Q6600 G0
Lowest Vcore : 1.3875
CPU VID : 1.2875
Best OC : 3408mhz
Stability test : 9 hours prime, small ffts
CPU Temp : low 30s idle, low 60s load
MOBO & BIOS : Asus P5K Deluxe - 0501 BIOS
Cooling Gear : Big Typhoon (heh)
CPU details : L720B023 , Pack Date : 07/31/07

freeagent,

Thank you ! :)

But I think that vcore 1.3875 Volt is not your lowest, am I right ? Please confirm !

If he had Speedstep or C1E enabled in BIOS then CoreTemp can show a variable VID. Mine changed when speedstep kicked in, got to be sure to turn it off!

I thought with RM Clock shows all VID levels starting from Current, Startup, Minimal and Maximal ?

While core temp is only showing the "current" VID.

Agree, turn OFF Speedstep or C1E !

oh im sorry, that was my bad, i should have read more thorughly :)

startup x9= 1.287, minimal x6= 1.162, maximal x9= 1.287

No problemo ! :D

Just set your speed at "stock" and start lowering your vcore at bios step by step until it is becoming unstable, and lock on that low vcore that is stable on stock speed.

Once you got that lower vcore, stay in that and start OC to the max again on that vcore, that is your max. UVOC. :D

Going to be a slight delay. Looks like there is a good chance my DFI motherboard is dead. Just a few more things to try before I RMA it. :mad:

NP Torin, just take your time.

In these uvoc testing, the more time you spend on it, the better/accurate the result ! :D

1st G0 x3210 UVOC post!

* CPU : G0 x3210
* Lowest Vcore : 1.1v (lowest available in BIOS) 1.072v/1.072v (idle/load) as seen in CPU-Z Beta
* CPU VID : 1.3250v Coretemp 95.4
* Best OC : 2.536Ghz or FSB = 317 multi= x8
* Stock speed: 2.13GHz (8x266)
* Stability test : P95-25.4.1 5h, 50min.
* CPU Temp : idle: 34-35-31-31/ load: 43-44-40-40/ ambient: ~27 Celcius Coretemp 95.4
* MOBO & BIOS : P5K Premium, BIOS:0204
* Cooling Gear : Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme
* CPU details : L723A973 , Pack Date : 08/07/2007 ,saveateagle.com

I had 1 P95 error at 5h 50min @ 317. I'm pretty sure 316FSB will be 8h+ stable (318 was 2h 45min stable before 1 P95 error), but I'm not going to test again until later. I'll update then.

YAY ! 1st Xeon uvoc result is in the house, thanks Jason ! :clap:

I put the stable uvoc at 316FSB since you said its stable, will update if you got another result !

Table updated, again thanks for the patience & your time ! :thup:

@dudleycpa

Your entry is also in the list but waiting for your final VID confirmation !

Wow looks like you got a very nice cpu there!

I am quite new to overclocking, and this is my first attempt. If anyone sees anything that I should correct, lmk.

The CPU: e6850 G0 stepping SLA9U

The lowest VCore 1.375

CPU-z reads a core of 1.296 volts (load) 1.328 (idle) vdroop = 0.032v

CPU VID: 1.35v

Best OC speed: 3.4021 ghz

Stress: Prime 95 v25.4 stable @ 6+ hours (as of right now)

CPU temp Idle (already corrected +15): Load: <57, Idle: <40 , Ambient: 25

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R

Bios: F2 (stock) (I'm scared to update) (plus, if it ain't broke...)

Cooling gear: Arctic cooling Freezer 7 pro

FPO/BATCH: L722A496 (the egg)

Pack Date: 07/20/07

Memory is cricial ballistix ddr2 800 running at 4-4-4-12 @ 756mhz

HTH.

BTW, I never recorded my lowest vcore at stock speed, sorry, I just gave the lowest at my current overclock.

CPU : Q6600 G0
Lowest Vcore : 1.0500v(bios) .976v(cpuz stress)
CPU VID : 1.2625v (Core Temp 95.4)
Best OC : Pending
Stock speed: 2.4GHz (9x266)
Stability test : P95 Pending
(Not OC Yet)CPU Temp : idle: 31/24/24/24 Pending load:38/33/33/33 Pending ambient: ~22C Thermostat
MOBO & BIOS : Gigabyte 965P-DS3 F12
Cooling Gear : Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme
CPU details : L726A343 , Pack Date : 07/27/2007, From OCF

So far 1.05625v is the lowest vcore I got... err wait p95 failed on core 3 after 4 mins...

Nkresho ! Wellcome to Ocf ! :welcome:

Thanks ! :thup:

Table updated with your entry, eagerly waiting for your UVOC (lowest vcore) result, please read the detail on how to find it at the 1st post of this thread !

Don't worry, these UVOC-ing will not harm your CPU, MOBO, PSU etc since it put a very minimal stress for these components.

sp33dball,

Thank you ! Table updated and waiting for your stability test result and the "TEMPS" ! :D

While you're testing it, you should compare your "delta" temp if its in range with others. If it's too high like the one own by "ishould", then you got homework on your cooling ! :D
