Well I have an old Dell pII350 sitting here that I need to get a hard drive and video card for yet and all I want to use it for is server work for the printer and what now. Anyway I was looking at Dell's site to find info on what the highest mhz cpu was that I could put in this board and came across this http://support.dell.com/docs/systems/dkhan/Jumpers.htm if ya read down through it, it says about setting the jumper for maintenence mode and then you can set your cpu speed for what chip you are running, I'm sure you know what I'm getting at and that would be can I basically set it to run the 350 @ 450. Would it be just like changing the multiplier? Any help is greatly appreciated.

unless you have an intel confidential cpu, the multiplier is locked.... no one has found a way to bypass this to date.

So does that mean don't try it? I don't know much on Intel. I know the PII350 I have that came with the Dell system still has the black plastic casing on it. How do I tell what chip it is?

Ok I just pulled the cpu out of the board and here are the numbers that are on the one edge of the plastic cover:

80523PY350512 SL2S6
98240881-0123 MALAY

The only thing I make out of them numbers is it was made in Malaysia?
