Hello,

I have a Microsoft Classic Intellimouse from Amazon running on Windows 7 64-bit, but when I go into the Control Panel & Mouse settings, the settings in the Buttons tab are greyed out (screenshot below). The mouse is here:

https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-HDQ-00001-Classic-Intellimouse/dp/B076C75X1T/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Microsoft+Classic+Intellimouse&qid=1561845586&s=electronics&sr=1-1

I want to make the scroll wheel middle button be a 'Back' button. I have downloaded and installed the Intellipoint 8.2 driver from here: https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/en-ie/d/intellimouse-optical

How do I make this not greyed out so I can get it to work? Thanks.

Note it says, "No Microsoft Mouse Detected". That suggests you are using the basic mouse driver included in Windows. What does Device Manager say you are using?

I agree with the above suggestions. If you currently have Intellimouse drivers installed, uninstall them and reboot.

Note the latest driver for that mouse is found here.

Thanks to all. This did the trick.
