My CPU model is this one > Intel® Core™ i7-13700K Processor

How do I learn if this CPU is part of the 13th and 14th generation processor Intel fiasco? This CPU is a 13th gen model, formerly known as Raptor Lake.

What I am not sure of, is there a serial number to learn if your CPU is affected, OR are all 13th and 14th gen CPUs affected?

I haven't had any issues with mine, but it doesn't mean I won't potentially.

Thanks Janus!

Just bad news - how could this have happened, ugh

I really wouldn't worry too much about it. How long have you had the chip? Just put the new BIOS on when it releases and you should be OK. ;)

When you have time, update your signature with your current components. :)

Hey EarthDog! Will do. I received my build on Jan 2023 so newish

I’ve only played a Star Wars game on it a bit and a bit Diablo 4 but nothing serious in terms of total hours. The rest just normal PC stuff Office the web etc

Hope the update is received on time

The more info that comes out, it seems a very large percentage of Raptor Lake CPUs are effected, but that doesn't mean everyone will have problems. It sounds like you are keeping the load pretty light, so that should definitely help. Additionally, Intel is extending their warranty for 2 years, so that should cover you through Jan 2028, if you bought a boxed retail CPU. If you bought a pre-built, hopefully they extend their warranties as well. Hold onto your proof of purchase, though, you'll need it in case of an RMA request.

I saw that! Yeah I have my receipt. And this time I ALMOST went with AMD- used to have those never an issue. Now I regret.
