Just curious...where in the digital copywrite act does it state that interent radio is illegal to download?

I have read it a few times and have never caught anything about interent radio...since it is legal to record digital music off of such things as...cable music channels and radio stations and such...and yes most radio stations now use digital soundtracks...this is legal...just as long as you do not distrubte it...

Just trying to clarrify a few things...

I'm pretty sure it's legal to record internet radio.

And seeing as you have an audigy 2, my audigy 2 zs came with some kind of software to record streaming audio. Haven't tried it, but I'd assume that it works.

P.S. I suppose it might depend on what you were recording, as to it's legality. maybe, maybe not.

I haven't been to a concert where they didn't prohibit recording devices. Doesn't stop bootleggers, of course, but it doesn't make it legal, either.

It's generally *not* illegal to record broadcasts for personal use, but it is illegal to distribute or share them. You may have noticed the disclaimers whenever you watch/listen to a sporting event; you can record it, but you can't distribute it. I don't see why internet radio broadcasts would be different from traditional over-the-air radio, unless someone can point out a law that says so.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Exactly... now go and record... but if you start delling the material to other people... don't come back to us crying when you are getting sued...

streamripper, search for it on google, it's only for winamp last I checked, but if you need to, get winamp just for this. its worth it. but you didnt hear from me (a heard from techtv, so if they can get away with it surely I can)
